The World's Greatest Yogi: The Story of Baba Siri Chand

One of the greatest yogis of all time was born in India in the fifteenth century and taught yoga until the seventeenth century! Baba Siri Chand lived for over 150 years yet kept the appearance of a young man. He united all the schools of yoga at the time into the royal path of Kundalini Yoga and gave us some of the most powerful mantras of all time. The son of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh guru, Baba Siri Chand was one of the most well respected yogis in all of India.

In this workshop, Gurucharan shares with us the history of this great yogi and his relationship to the legacy of Kundalini Yoga. We will practice some of the mantras he gave for protection, prosperity and developing subtle yogic powers. Come hear this fascinating story and experience the flow of the energy of the "golden chain" of teachers that comes when we practice Kundalini yoga.

For over 30 years, Gurucharan has been using the techniques of Kundalini Yoga in a variety of clinical and therapeutic settings to help hundreds of people regain their emotional well-being. Through his research and personal psychotherapy practice, Gurucharan has collected and integrated the teachings of Kundalini Yoga master Yogi Bhajan so that therapists, counselors, healthcare providers, and teachers can use the techniques of yoga to help their clients and students.

In this practical application workshop, you will learn how to empower yourself and others to create emotional well-being through the techniques of Kundalini Yoga. Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ph.D., is a psychotherapist, teacher, writer, and a world-recognized expert in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. He heads a business consulting firm, has a broad-based therapy practice, instructs at MIT, and directs a large community of yoga practitioners. Khalsa is an expert in the mind and in the applied psychology of meditation and peak performance. He is coauthor, with Yogi Bhajan, of Breathwalk: Breathing Your Way to a Revitalized Body, Mind and Spirit.

Dr. Khalsa is an expert in the mind and in the applied psychology of meditation and peak performance. He has consulted to top companies such as Arthur Andersen and Mercer. His focus has been on executive coaching, conflict resolution, stress management, creativity and the interface of high information technology with optimal human performance.

He has done original research on the cognitive and physiological impact of meditation, authored many texts on yoga, designed social programs, and trained counselors. He is the director of training for the Kundalini Research Institute.

Besides the classic books with Yogi Bhajan, The Mind and Sadhana Guidelines, his newest publication is The Psychospiritual Clinician Handbook.
